One connected platform for specialist learner support.

ONYSS brings the people, records and actions behind inclusive support into one secure workspace. It is designed around the operational realities of NMH, university-funded support and apprenticeship Additional Learning Support.

Work from one current learner record

A referral becomes a live support record rather than another email attachment or spreadsheet row. Authorised users can see the learner’s consent, funding or approval, identified needs, agreed provision, allocation, appointments, session records, reviews, hours, costs and outstanding actions in context.

A learner record in the ONYSS Admin workspace on the Funding tab, showing intake funding and support allowances with hours used.

Funding, allowances and hours used sit on the learner record alongside the rest of their support.

Role-appropriate workspaces

Learners

View appointments, communicate with the support worker, access agreed information and review or approve session records through a straightforward learner workspace and mobile access.

Support workers

Manage availability and appointments, complete session records and timesheets, work towards ILP goals, record agreed actions and keep delivery evidence up to date.

Provider and university teams

Manage referrals, screening, assessments, allocations, funding or approvals, safeguarding and wellbeing concerns, outstanding records, reviews, capacity and service performance.

Managers and finance teams

Track activity, engagement, hours, costs, approvals and exceptions across the service and use approved delivery records within invoicing and payroll workflows.

Designed around real support pathways

  • NMH support funded through Disabled Students’ Allowance
  • University-funded specialist and non-medical help
  • Apprenticeship Additional Learning Support
  • Specialist Study Skills and Mentoring
  • Internal and externally commissioned support
  • Remote and blended support delivery

Useful information, not another reporting burden

Dashboards and reports draw from the records created through everyday delivery. Teams can identify learners whose support has not started, missing approvals, repeated Did Not Attend (DNA) records, unused hours, overdue reviews, changes in engagement and costs requiring attention, without reconstructing the service manually.

Ona supports defined tasks while people retain responsibility

Ona is the embedded assistant within ONYSS. It can support authorised users with defined in-platform tasks and help them work with the information already held in their workspace. Ona does not diagnose, determine eligibility, make safeguarding decisions or replace professional judgement.
